The short version

Slip runs on your Mac. Your conversations, files, prompts, and the folders you point it at stay there. The app talks to exactly two services of ours, and this page lists everything each one sees.

What the app sends

Update checks

Once a day Slip fetches slip.design/appcast.xml to see whether a newer version exists. The request carries the version you're running and nothing else. Downloads come from GitHub Releases. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.

Slip Account, only if you sign in

Free needs no account. If you sign in (Settings → Slip Account) to hold a Pro plan, Slip uses Supabase for authentication and stores your email address, the date you signed up, and your plan status. The app then periodically asks for a signed statement of your plan. It never sends transcripts, file paths, prompts, code, or the names of your projects.

Nothing else

There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no telemetry. An independent review of the code in September 2026 confirmed that nothing phones home beyond the two calls above.

The agents you connect

Slip drives the Claude Code, Codex, or Grok command-line tools already installed on your Mac, signed in with your own accounts. What those tools send to Anthropic, OpenAI, or xAI is governed by their privacy policies, exactly as it is when you run them in a terminal. Slip adds nothing to that traffic and holds none of your keys.

Payments

Pro is sold by Ctrl Alt Go and paid for through Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy; we never see your card. Stripe tells us that a subscription exists, its status, its renewal date, and the email it belongs to, so the app can switch Pro on.

This website

slip.design is hosted on Vercel and sets no cookies of its own. Checkout happens on Stripe's pages, not here.

Your data, your call

Everything Slip writes — cards, briefs, decisions, plans — is plain files in ~/Library/Application Support/Slip. Delete the folder and it's gone. To delete a Slip Account and everything we hold about it, email cameron@ctrlaltgo.com from that address.
